EBCRC Pty Ltd is an incorporated 'not-for-profit' Company. Members are shareholders with their shareholding held in proportion to their contributions to EBCRC.

Core members contribute at least $50,000 per annum cash and Associate members contribute different, generally lesser amounts. The difference in membership is in the access to IP and financial returns from commercialisation activities and means of representation on the Board. Core members also have a major role in deciding research priorities and reviewing outcomes. All IP generated is owned by EBCRC.

Sharing commercial benefits

Not all potential members such as SMEs or government organisations will wish to be shareholders. Affiliate membership allows them the option of having voting rights for specific sector representation (if required), an ability to participate in shareholders' meetings and briefings and to advance projects for consideration while participating in the management and review of these.

SMEs as a category will pay smaller amounts and they may upgrade their participation at any time between SME categories and other forms of membership.
