Technology transfer
EBCRC is actively pursuing commercialisation via two primary routes:
1) Development and protection of world class intellectual property prior to licensing or spin-off formation.
2) Active technology transfer of process improvements or practices to EBCRC members and Australian businesses.
Patent applications
EBCRC currently has a total of ten patent applications in different stages of development.
Some of the protected intellectual property covers:
The control of biofilms using cell signals.
An assay for the electrochemical detection of a micro-organism.
A process for treating high nutrient wastes.
A method for remediating chlorinated hydrocarbons
An efficient method of producing multisubunit enzymes.
A diagnostic platform
